Now that we have finally said goodbye to the “old” year, and welcomed in the new one, our New Year’s Resolutions are on everyone’s mind.
Many wish for financial stability, success, a newer shiny wheels; but in today’s reality, most are concerned with their declining health, and ever expanding waist line.
Thus, at the beginning of each year, many of the “New Year Resolutes” commit to the latest diet plans, new gym memberships, and other drastic lifestyle-altering plans, in order to reach their weight loss, fitness, and wellness goals.
There is certainly nothing wrong with these plans, except, in most cases they are not sustainable, and as this reality suddenly emerges, they similarly reach their untimely and premature “death;” which is often accompanied by dismay and frustration rather than the glee of accomplishment and success.
As I’ve stated so many times, diets, and other temporary lifestyle modifications are not only unsustainable, but are often a source for a roller coaster weight struggle, negative side effects and emotional blows, not to mention the negative health ramifications.
In the toxic soup we live in, health and wellness are a life long pursuit, and if practiced sensibly, does not have to entail hunger or deprivation. Furthermore, achieving and maintaining your optimal state of health, involves a deeper understanding of the prevailing causes of illness and disease.
Our overall health begins in our gut. Every morsel of fuel we ingest will determine how well, or how unwell, our bodies function.
For years, I abhorred breakfast. I simply didn’t think I needed it, until I discovered how wrong I was, and how much better I can function when my body is empowered with nutrient dense, high octane “fuel”.
In the past I shared with you the importance of food choices as well as key factor of portion control. I am an avid proponent of keeping our bodies free of chemicals, and practicing conscious living, which translates to not only living ourselves, but also cherishing every living being we share our amazing planet with.
I have seen it first hand how a plant based lifestyle has drastically improved the quality of life of many of my clients, by ridding their ailing bodies of diabetes, excess weight, high cholesterol, cardiovascular conditions, and cancer!
I truly practice what I preach, and the only regret I have is not knowing these truths sooner.
Today, as we all eagerly embrace the beginning of the new year, and as a happy, healthy, and energetic wellness advocate, I am eager to share with you my daily energy boosting, complete protein, fiber, vitamin and mineral power breakfast.
But before you throw down the towel stating that it is too complicated or time consuming, please allow me to “warn” you that it really does only take 10 minutes to prepare it, and it will keep you energized and satiated for hours, detox your liver and colon, provide you with your daily requirements for fiber, protein, and vitamins, and is free of any toxic chemicals or GMO toxins.
So without any further ado, my breakfast consists of a 16 oz. green smoothie, a nutrient dense gluten free protein and fiber muffin, and half of an avocado. All ingredients are organic, non-GMO and all smoothie fruits have been pre-cut and frozen for ease of use.
Two handfuls of mixed power greens – chard, kale, and spinach
Ginger Root – 1″
Fruits: Banana, Pineapple, Mixed Berries, Pear, Lemon with rind.
Powders: 1 tsp of : Cinnamon, Hemp Seed, Pomegranate Extract, Raspberry Seed Extract, Turmeric, Spirulina, 1 Tbs Avocado Seed (you can buy it, or make your own as I do – avocado seed contains more than 70% of the nutrients than the avocado flesh).
I premix all my powders in a single glass jar (for ease of use), and store it in the freezer to maintain freshness. Combine all the ingredients in high speed blender ( I use Vitamix), and in 5 minutes your power drink is ready for you to enjoy!

I usually prepare these on the weekend, and have a hassle free mega nutritious breakfast ready for each morning in the entire week.
Add half of an avocado, and start your day with an all organic, nutrient blast!
No excuses, simple, easy, breezy, and loaded with health and vitality! Don’t let the naysayers tell you that plant-based diets are not tasty, or that you walk around hungry all day. That is simply not the case. In fact, plant based foods are some of the tastiest that I have ever eaten, and they keep me full, energized, and satisfied all day…!!!
So let me be among the first to wish you an amazing year full of wellness, abundance of health, happiness, physical fitness, and emotional prosperity!
The rest…is up to you ;)!
Live well and Thrive!
